We reached our destination and it was three days of family! The big girls were very excited to be home and ready to start out in a new home. Ah college.
We shopped for daughter #2’s apartment, met daughter #1’s boyfriend and got a campus tour.
This delightful sculpture in the library by Jack Morford.
We took a break to cool our feet and let the little mountain goats clamber for a bit.
We spent a morning touristing in Salt Lake City. We heard the Mormon Tabernacle Choir – there is something amazing about live music that you feel in your bones. My little guy couldn’t contain himself and was quietly conducting in the back. We toured the conference center roof – acres of rooftop gardens planted in native species representing Utahns alpine and desert plants.
Then it was family time. What crazy chance that a cousin I haven’t seen since she was 4 years old happened to move half way across the country the day before we arrived and the rest of her crew was there as well.
Then on to more family the kidlets haven’t met. My hubby has quite a clan of extended relatives in the area. We all stopped trying to figure out how we were related and just called each other cousins. They were wonderful. It’s all about family.
