It’s not too late to get started making your holiday gifts for this year right? (Riiiiiiight… I start mine December 15th!) This issue includes my article on making an art scarf with a beaded fringe.
Leave me a comment telling me your favorite easy gifts to make and it’s yours! Last year I made these snowflake ornaments – love them.
And as an extra little gift from me to you – I have this sweet cell phone case for you. I don’t think it will fit a smart phone but if you have one of those great “it’s just a PHONE kind of phones it will be perfect!)
(open to US readers only this time.)
Congratulations to mjkasz who is the winner of the Sketchbook Project Journal. I didn’t use a random number generator this time. I couldn’t help myself but choose a middle school teacher. I have a 7th grader right now. His teachers and I deserve combat pay! “I created a prompt book like this to use with my middle school students for their self exploration. I would certainly like to have this book to use in my retirement to help me explore my creative nature as I am loving the extra time to create with fabric. Really this is more about reinventing myself as a textile artist than retiring to do nothing.”
And since I have an extra I’m giving a copy of Down the Doors Remix to BOTH Beth and Ellee. Enjoy!

May 30, 2013 at 11:04 pmMy favorite easy gifts are journal covers. I make them in conjunction with who I am giving them to (hiking group, friends’ attributes, family hobbies, etc.) This way they are very personalized to the person I am giving them to and very easy to mount over the inexpensive journals I buy on sale at the office supply stores. LOVE your emails and art – thank you!

May 30, 2013 at 5:36 pmI’m the same with procrastinating! Maybe this year will be different. Quick gifts for me are knitted or crocheted scarfs, hats and a simple tablerunner.
Thank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

May 30, 2013 at 8:12 amMy favorite easy gifts to make are pillowcases and totebags. I get impact with the colors and fabrics I use. Batiks are my favorite to work with. Oh, and that cell phone case would be great since my phone is old school — my kids like to tease me about it.

May 29, 2013 at 5:42 pmI create mixed media scarves. I freeform knit, crochet, add fabric, embroidery, beads, a bit of quilting here and there and get one of a kind gifts. All developed around a particular theme. I start about this time of year in order to get something made for all my friends.

May 29, 2013 at 5:37 pmMy favourite gift is a book cover – covering a nice sketchbook. Made several over the years and they are always appreciated. Would love to come up with other ideas so the magazine may be just the ticket 🙂

May 29, 2013 at 3:28 pmMy easiest gift is felted wool soaps. I pick up fragrant soap at the farmers market and wrap them with wool roving and felt away. It is fun visiting friends and seeing the soap in the powder room.
