Road Trip Day 14: Goblin Valley

August 15, 2013

More Rocks!!! Driving from Capital Reef to Arches National Park you see spectacular scenery. It’s geology on parade. We made a stop at Goblin Valley State Park. I told the kids that it is my favorite but gave them no further information so they could enjoy the surprise. It is a lovely smaller valley with rock formations that are globular and otherworldly. I love it because you can scramble all over the place and that is exactly what the kids did. I perched on the edge of the valley and just watched them climb all over for a while before heading in myself. My “good” camera is up to around 6 thousand pictures so far.
