Travels: Greymouth Port, New Zealand

Before we headed out of town we visited the port of Greymouth, a notoriously dangerous river entry into the docks with unpredictable swells, river flooding and sandbars.


And beautiful old mining equipment…
Much of the upper central west part of New Zealand’s South Island was gold mining country.


A mysterious and rotting pier…

…and a World War II lookout bunker.
