Most days we have risen early, hopped a bus, traveled through spectacular countryside (on twisty two lane roads), then arrived to see what we could of the town before my evening lecture.
Unfortunately the area around Nelson was suffering from a frightening forest fire at the time.
There was just enough time for a lovely meal, a stop by one of my favorite museums (next post!) and a bite to eat.
This was a little treat sent out by the chef as I was waiting. A tiny tartlet filled with smoked chicken mousse. It was amazing.
And – again – another delightful group of quilters to spend an evening with.
