Looking back over the past year to see what you’ve accomplishments is important, and it feels wonderful to list them. I also am always very interested in the data, the hard facts, trying to understand them and the story they tell is something that I also find interesting. For me, it’s important to understand what the numbers tell me in order to choose how to go forward.

These two charts tell me a lot about how my investments of time and money have been spent well, although the expenses are sometimes hard to figure out. How much of my advertising actually did any good? I think I’m going to have to figure out how to track that for next year.

I can also see places where I won’t need to spend as much next year. And…. this chart says a lot. Trying to lower the ratio of expense to income will be something I need to work on next year.

Do you think of yourself as a hobbyist, or a business?
Are you an amateur or a professional?
As an aside – These graphs were made with Canva and I’ve completely fallen in love with the software! I’ve been doing all my graphics there, including PDF handouts, video thumbnails and endcards, logos – everything! In the Academy for Virtual Teaching I’ll be teaching several short courses in how to use it for your business over the next couple of months. If you are interested at all in building a virtual teaching business I invite you to join us there!
