behind the scenes with The Quilt Show in Charleston, SC

November 25, 2013

Remember waaaay back when…I shared a few behind the scenes shots from a day of filming for The Quilt Show. And here is a little post I wrote about some of the prep work that happened before I even got there.
Smilebox_1405618561I got to visit the spectacularly beautiful Charleston, SC and filmed in the lush conservatory at the Magnolia Plantation. You can read a little bit of my thoughts and feelings about the plantation hereSmilebox_1405618544I was also able to visit the Angel Oak, the most massively beautiful tree I’ve ever been privileged to be in the presence of. The Old Slave Mart and the beautiful architecture in the city were also part of my wanderings there on a blustery and cold spring day.Smilebox_1405618548It was such a fantastic time and TODAY I got to relive a little bit of it as……….

(drum roll please!)

Just finished watching your episode of The Quilt Show – yes hit the very last hour of FREE! Was so glad I got there! Lyric, after having you present to the Houston Area Fiber Artsits back a while, I have remained a big fan of your teaching (one of my avocations) and versatility of your work. Your presentation was clear and so enjoyable to watch. What surprised me, besides your French Horn talent, is that while the show was FREE at this time, it is one that should be owned in order to be fully appreciated for every technique and hint. Thanks so much!

I watched this episode today and just loved it. I especially loved how you talked about how anyone could learn to be arty. Hope you come to Australia sometime cause I would love to take a class with you!

Lyric – It is a fabulous episode. You are a wonderful teacher. I’ve never been especially interested in screen printing, but that segment really caught my interest. I will have to give it a try. Thank you for all the work you put into it.

Wasn’t the filming in Charleston, SC not Charlotte, NC?
