Steamstress: belt accessories

Walking around a RenFaire all day I knew I was going to need a bag or purse or pouch of some kind to hold all the important things in. The thrift shop haul came in useful again! More on that in a moment.

My daughter had a pin holder from some craft kit that I “borrowed” thinking it would be a fun accessory. A little spray paint

I dug around and pulled out some trim from my stash, made a giant yo-yo from more tape-measure fabric and….

Isn’t it pretty? I thought it would end up as a brooch but it ended up playing well with another thrift shop find that came in super useful. This little red cross-body purse was the perfect size for a phone, keys, wallet – all that stuff. I cut the straps and turned them into loops to hang on the belt. A rivet holds the rosette onto the outside pocket.

Eventually I’ll stain the brown straps black. Eventually. And who knows what else will end up on this thing. What do you think it needs?
